I am delighted to serve on the Board of Management at Moray College UHI, an institution I have been proud to be part of since 2014. As a Social Sciences lecturer, I have had the privilege of designing and delivering courses that inspire students for the past 10 years. I am also an active member of the teacher education team – mentoring and supporting colleagues. Education has always been a passion of mine, and I deeply value the role it plays in empowering individuals and transforming communities.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work in diverse sectors and across the globe. My journey has taken me from the police and prison services to managing and developing youth programs in Northern Ireland. I Co-founded Moray Supports Refugees allowing me to support vulnerable communities while learning from inspiring projects in Greece, Palestine, and Lebanon.
I have recently completed my MSc in International Humanitarian Affairs, building on a foundation of qualifications in politics, conflict transformation, leadership, and coaching. For me, Continued Professional Development is not just important—it’s essential. I believe in always seeking new ways to grow, adapt, and contribute meaningfully to the work I do.
Earlier roles in my career include time as a medic on emergency response teams in Scotland, a State Coordinator for Amnesty International in the U.S., and a project leader for humanitarian and development efforts in countries such as Belize, Namibia, and Guatemala. Each role has strengthened my skills in leadership, collaboration, and communication, even in the most complex and high-pressure environments.
Whether teaching, supporting refugees, or working with communities in conflict zones, my focus has always been on people—building connections, encouraging understanding, and creating opportunities for positive change. I look forward to bringing these experiences and values to my role on the Board, supporting the mission of Moray College UHI to inspire and educate our students and wider community.
