What is special about this course?
As with our Hospitality Operations (SCQF Level 5) course, this course provides an overview of the hospitality industry with a focus on key soft and transferable skills common to all customer-facing roles.
You will also:
- Deepen your knowledge and skills of the Hospitality Industry
- Develop technical specialism in front of house and events
whilst being provided a platform to either progress to further study or pursue employment opportunities.

Entry requirements
- Four National 5s, one of which must be English OR
- NPA in Hospitality at SCQF level 6
- National Certificate in Hospitality Operations at SCQF level 5
- Relevant SVQs at SCQF level 5
- Relevant industrial experience
Applications are encouraged from mature students who do not possess formal qualifications but have skills to meet the academic demand of the course

There will be external engagement whenever possible, and this might include Field Trips, Guest Lectures and involvement with College Events and functions.
Equipment
A uniform and equipment are required for this course which will be supplied by UHI Moray (approx. cost £500-750). If you are eligible for a bursary these costs will be covered.

You will study through a combination of face-to-face practical lessons and theory classes on campus, supplemented by our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Normally, if you are studying full time for the first time and are Ordinarily Resident in Scotland your course fees will be covered through the information you provide on your course application.
If you are studying part time and are on low income or in receipt of certain benefits your course fees may be covered by a fee waiver.

- progress on to the HNC in Hospitality Operations
- enter employment in roles such as Waiter, Bartender, Events Co-ordinator, Barista, Assistant Manager or Host
