Add new skills to your workforce
Foundation Apprentices are senior secondary school pupils who’ve chosen to get ahead in their career. They’ll spend time with employers like you, gaining relevant experience 1 day per week while working towards to achievement of SVQ units relevant to your sector.

The Foundation Apprenticeship is a two-year course, studied from S5 which gives young people the skills, knowledge and qualifications they need to enter the world of work.

It’s good for young people, and good for the future of your business too. It’s the chance to attract highly motivated and committed young people who are willing to learn, identify young people who are right for your business and ensure your organisation has people with the skills you need.

  • New ideas — young people are great with technology, enthusiastic, flexible, and more responsive to change.
  • New skills — the training they’ll get equips them with up-to-date knowledge of practices in your industry.
  • Your future — as your workforce ages you need to identify and nurture future talent.

Create stronger links with education
By working with schools and UHI Moray, you can make sure that young people are leaving education have the skills and experience they need for your industry. Taking on a Foundation Apprentice helps you to identify the young people with the right skills for your organisation combined with the skills and training are highly relevant to your industry.
