Lynne Mellis

I am the sociology lecturer working in the social science department.

Pupils that do Higher Sociology gain a better understanding of culture and identity. We look at social issues like poverty, differential education achievement, and how people are affected by social issues out with their control. Students get a deeper understanding of social forces.

Moray College UHI has been a big part of my life, I did my Highers here including this course up to degree and now currently doing my Masters in Sustainable Rural Development through UHI. My lecturer at the time encouraged me to apply for a vacancy within the department when I asked for a reference for another job, now I’m part of her team.

About me:  I love horse riding and have my own horse called Herbie. I regularly workout at the gym, a good Netflix series helps me get through a treadmill run.
