I took this course to give me skills for when I leave school. The lecturer is good and helpful, I’ve built on skills in construction and my confidence within the industry. My ambition is to have a career in a trade of some sorts in construction. The highlights of studying at Moray College has been the atmosphere I prefer it to school and feel like I learn more because I enjoy the course.

Practical Engineering

I was originally on a different course but wanted to do a more practical course, a friend told me about it so I recently joined the class. The lecturer has been very supportive and helpful in my transition across to catch up. I have gained more knowledge of electronics and new ability in soldering. My goal is to get an apprenticeship in Engineering or hopefully get a scholarship to college in America. My advice to anyone considering going to college is work hard and you will achieve! My highlights have been that homework isn’t as taxing, the days are more filled and feels relaxed even though there is more work.

NPA Digital Media

I chose this course as I wanted to try something different. When looking at the college offers, this course stood out for me. The lecturers have been very nice, and I feel comfortable asking for help if I don’t know something. I feel I have gained a lot from the course already, including editing and audio.

I don’t have a career path in mind, but I now know what I like I’m keen to do a further in-depth course in audio editing. My advice to anyone considering college as an option in their senior phase is if you see something that interests you then go for it, it’s better to start earlier while still at school to find out what you like, that’s why I did it in 4th year. The highlight of my college experience is meeting new people. I’ve never been overly good at making new friends, in class, everyone gets along, it is nice! This course in 3 words has been fun, exciting, and useful.

I’ve aspirations to become a Mechanical Technician and plan to do the next level up in this course once I leave school. I love that this course is more practical than theory, I’ve learnt so much getting hands on. I find this course to be practical, fun, and given me independence.

NPA Digital Media

This course is good as I’m interested in visual media and there a unit on this. The teaching has been good, I feel like I have been met with adequate support and Ben is very tolerant. In comparison to school, college has a different structure of learning, I feel you get more freedom. I have gained a decent amount of audio editing knowledge and composition skills although I haven't finished the course so I don’t know what I will go on to learn. I didn’t have any idea as to what I wanted to do when I finished school. Now I think I would like to get more qualifications in media. I’ve found that videography is very much my thing and possibly looking at a future in marketing. My advice to anyone considering schools programme would be just go for it, see how it goes and look at it as just more experience, its satisfying to have more knowledge. I would describe my college experience in 3 words as interesting, inclusive and relaxed.
