How to be kind on campus
A handy guide on some ways you can be kind on campus.
Being kind doesn't have to be a big gesture or take a lot of effort. Whether it’s being kind to our lectures or peers, the environment we learn in or ourselves, one small act can have a lasting impact.
Kindness to others:
- help a friend with coursework – plus they might help you back
- be polite and treat others with respect – manners cost nothing
- treat a friend to a tea/coffee – a low-cost option to show you care
- support someone in need – a bosie (hug) can go a long way
Environmental kindness:
- throw away rubbish – remember to recycle
- turn off devices after using them – save electricity and prevent fires
- avoid single use plastics – use your UHI Moray tote bag instead of a plastic one
Kindness to yourself:
- get some fresh air – take 5 minutes to ground yourself
- give yourself a break – you’ve earned it
- treat yourself at The Beechtree or Little Lunch Box – we recommend the Beechtree’s strawberry frappe or a Little Lunch Box tray bake
- practice gratitude – write down what you’re grateful for or tell someone
