How UHI Moray spreads the festive spirit

Amidst the planning and deadlines that this time of year brings, the festive spirit can sometimes feel overshadowed. Here are some ways that we bring joy and spirit to our campuses to help embrace the season.

  • Our annual Community Festive Gathering sees our Moray Street campus open up to the community to offer a warm space where you can enjoy a free hot drink, festive performances and wellbeing information. Open to all on Tuesday 10th December from 10am - 12pm. More info >
  • Our Christmas Carol singing is a festive favourite – who wouldn’t feel all warm and fuzzy inside from seeing our Nursery children and Supported Learning students belting out some Christmas classics? Accompanied by lecturer, Stephen Duff, you are welcome to pop along to get your festive fix during our Community Festive Gathering >
  • The campus Christmas tree is lovingly decorated by our Nursery children (with a little help from our Events Co-ordinator, Kirsty, to get those hard-to-reach spots). A shout out to our wee elves (aka the Estates team) who have the fun task of fitting the tree through the doors!
  • Every year our Skills for Life (Supported Learning) students plan, organise and run their SFL Christmas Fayre. Taking place on Wednesday 11th December between 10am - 1pm, you can pop along for a coffee and scone, pick up a bargain from the range of stalls, or try your luck at winning a raffle prize. More info >
  • We’ve got your cravings covered with The Beechtree at Christmas. Our student-led restaurant is offering 3-course lunches and dinners for only £32.50 per person. Spaces are extremely limited so please book by either calling 01343 756424 email beechtree@uhi.ac.uk. A deposit of £15 per person is required to guarantee your booking.
  • We’ll take any excuse to dust off the Christmas jumpers! Join us at 10.30am on Thursday 12th December at our Moray Street campus reception for the annual Christmas Jumper Day. Can’t make it? Share your Christmas jumper photos with us – tag us on social media @uhimoray or email marketing.moray@uhi.ac.uk.
  • Write one of the most important letters of your life at our Take a Stand: Amnesty International Write for Rights drop-in. Organised by our Social Sciences team, you are encouraged to pop by our Moray Street campus on Monday 16th December to write a letter for those around the world whose human rights and freedoms have been denied. More info >
  • Did we say panto? Oh yes we did! Join Out of the Darkness Theatre Company to see our acting students perform the ODTC 2024 Panto, Sleeping Beauty. Immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas on 11th, 12th and 13th December for only £12 per ticket >
  • Book in for a pamper at our HCBT Christmas Salons on Tuesday 17th December, 12.30pm - 7pm! Not only will you be treated to an array of treatments and services, but you will also be able to enjoy festive treats and a raffle/bottle stall. For the latest updates, check out the UHI Moray Hairdressing Facebook page >
  • Whilst our campuses will be closed for the festive break (end of day Friday 20th December, returning Monday 6th January) we wanted to remind you that you are not alone. You can still access our mental health support services and partnerships:
