Friends for Tea - Saturday 10th May
23 Moray College Diploma 2 Professional Cookery and Food and Beverage students, have teamed up with Andersons Care Home and the Friends of Andersons to bring you the ‘Friends for Tea’ event. This takes place on Saturday 10th May from 11am until 3pm.
The home was established in 1832 following a bequest by the late General Anderson and the Board of Governors have held an annual ‘Tea’ event, to raise funds for the home, has been held for many years now. However this year’s event will be different. The Board of Governors were approached by Moray College and asked if they could support, with the aim to build on the established event for 2014. For only £3.00, you can sample the mouth-watering delights baked and created by the students. This will include scones, sandwiches and cakes for the event and the students will also be serving on the day. Students from the Advanced Aromatherapy course will also be offering arm and hand massages throughout the day for a wee bit of pampering. There will also be a range of stalls and activities which will run until 3pm. This will be a great opportunity for student involvement with the Care Home and the link between young and old fits with General Anderson’s vision for the creation of a home for the support of old age and the education of youth. This is now of course, Andersons Care Home and East End School. The Moray College UHI students are also helping to raise funds for the Friends of Andersons by serving up a special dinner on the 12th June in the Beechtree Restaurant at the College. Tickets for this event will be sold at £22.00 per head for a 4 course dinner, including canapés and petits fours.
