Jordan Watters at the College Development Network Awards

Jordan Watters was "highly commended" at the CDN awards.

Jordan Watters started Moray College UHI in September 2013 on level 6 Applied Science course straight from school. From the outset it was clear that Jordan was a remarkable student who was extremely dedicated, enthusiastic and who got on well with his peers. Jordon excelled when he was asked to support the Science Festival. Although he had never been involved in anything like it before he threw himself into it with great enthusiasm.

Sam Bright who was one of Jordans Lecturers and who nominated him for the awards said -

"Jordan was an outstanding success at the Moray Science Festival as he took control of his work shop and when other students were ill he managed to support other workshops in between delivering his own.

He demonstrated initiative, quick thinking and certainly inspired all those who came to his workshop but most importantly made Science fun to both young and old including primary teachers who loved his leadership approach.

As a result I’m taking him to Belladrum to demonstrate to degree students how to clearly communicate with the public by using his fun but simple team bonding skills to engage all who meet him.

I believe he would make a fantastic teacher as he demonstrates all the qualities you would want in someone who could inspire young people to greater heights".

Jordan, from Buckie attended the event with Sam Bright, Mary Johnston and his girlfriend Cara Simpson.
