Moray College UHI partners with Gordon & MacPhail to launch new qualification
Moray College UHI has launched a new fully accredited CPD programme for business leaders. The course 'Responsible Leadership and Development for Contemporary Business' has been developed in partnership with family owned alcoholic drinks company, Gordon & MacPhail.
With a view to utilising their funding from the Flexible Workforce Development Fund, Gordon & MacPhail approached the university to design a course for their managers responsible for different areas of the business.
The new programme is designed to train business leaders in responsible leadership and management, business finance, innovation, entrepreneurship and project management. Delivered through a responsible and ethical lens, the course is designed to help businesses prepare for a sustainable future in an era focused on social and environmental responsibility.
Gordon & MacPhail’s Managing Director, Ewen Mackintosh said:
“To deliver business success it is important that we continue our long-standing approach of investing in the development of our colleagues. This course will equip our managers with the skills to lead the delivery of our ambitious plans for growth in an ever-evolving marketplace.”
Allane Hay, Programme Leader at Moray College UHI said:
“UHI continues to focus on teaching responsible leadership through the MSc in Leadership and Management and Masters in Business Administration. The development of this course with Gordon & MacPhail will further extend the universities portfolio in this area. I am thrilled to be working on this course in direct partnership with a business that will provide business leaders in the workplace with the opportunity to use their own workplace environment to learn and develop their approach to responsible leadership and innovation.”
The programme has been designed in partnership with Gordon & MacPhail, but it is suitable for any business organisation. The course is delivered through a mixture of classroom - based learning – one day per month - and learning within the workplace to suit the needs of business.
The first Responsible Leadership and Management for Contemporary Business programme is already full but further courses will be available from next year.
