Innovation Voucher Project: Medica CPD

content

UHI Moray partnered with Medica CPD in a successful project that saw the development of a unique, innovative online learning solution for Autism.

Medica CPD are a leading provider in developing and updating health care knowledge in topical areas that require professionalism and experience in the approach. Medica CPD approached UHI Moray with an ask to induce their resources with innovation and spark to develop not only an understanding but a realistic enthusiasm to topics that will embed understanding in a way that develops empathy.  This project focussed on the key topic of autism using branch narrative to inject interactivity in an innovative and engaging way.  Concentrating on one area as a proof-of-concept study enabled a clear analysis to inform an approach for future topics.  This partnership was made possible through a successful funding application to the Scottish Funding Council Standard Innovation Voucher scheme.

Carolyn Fraser, Director, Medica CPD Ltd:

The whole experience of working with the UHI Moray has been excellent.  We asked for support in developing a unique, innovative, fun, and engaging digital learning solution and we have received this.  This will enable Medical CPD to grow further as it can enter the online learning market at home and internationally, develop more online learning packages and further develop our partnership with the UHI and long-term relationships.

Andrew French, Research Assistant; Lynne Mellis, Social Science Lecturer; Dr. Malcolm Clark, Deputy Head of Curriculum in Computing:

“An enjoyable and rewarding project to be involved in working with Medica CPD.  The project worked across Social Science and Computing departments in the college and provided the project team with an invaluable experience.  Undertaking the project in a college environment allowed access to experts to critically evaluate the current product with a view to providing realistic suggestions and feedback for development.”
