HN Cluster: Specialised Hair and Scalp Treatments (SCQF Level 7)

This part-time course has been designed to build on your foundation of hairdressing skills.
With study taking place within a real working environment, you will:
- Develop your current knowledge
- Develop your understanding of the structures and functions of the hair, skin, and scalp products and treatments available
- Consult, perform and evaluate hair and scalp treatment plans
- Build awareness of the personal, vocational, and societal applications of social media

Entry Requirements:
- successful completion of Current Hairdressing Techniques (SCQF Level 6) OR
- an equivalent qualification or sufficient industry experience in Hairdressing or Barbering Industry.
You must attend a Course Information Event Prior to the course commencing.

You will be required to work and be worked on for all practical units.
You will have the opportunity for placements throughout your studies as part of your course.

How will I study my course?
- Part-time
This is a practical based course with face-to-face practical classes on campus supplemented with our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
How long will my course last?
17 weeks
Mondays-8 hours per week
How is the course assessed?
Observation will be carried out for practical assessments carried out in a realistic environment. Knowledge will be covered by a variety of assessment methods to include reports, plans, project work, portfolio, and open book assessments.

Course cost: £344
If eligible you can apply for a SAAS Part-time Fee Grant (PTFG).
For January 2025 start this course is being offered on a fee-waiver basis.

Additional Costs
You will be required to purchase a uniform (approx. £119.14) for this course. Students may qualify for help through the discretionary fund.
