I am the Head of Curriculum for Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Integrative Healthcare, Sport and Essential Skills. I enjoy every minute of it and work with some amazing people. The main aspects of my role are around the management and leadership of the staff, the curriculum delivered within each of the areas and the recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression of our students.
I also work as the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Integrative Healthcare degree. This degree has had my attention now for over 20 years and was a degree I was determined to get off the ground and to be a successful degree, which it is and is currently the only degree of its kind in Scotland, something I am proud of.
Externally, I work with Children’s Hearing Scotland, a role that I do voluntary and enjoy every minute of it. Working with other like-minded volunteers who support the children and young adults living in a care experienced environment. This is both a humbling and rewarding role.
About me: I live out in the country, and I love to be out and about in the countryside walking my Border Collie called Lexie. She is a brilliant companion and best friend. Being in my wellies and toorie hat, takes me on such a different path to what my work does. The sense of release and fresh air is worth every minute of my time. My other love and down time habit is cooking and baking, thinking up new recipes, delivering on them and plenishing the ‘fly cup piece boxes’ with my goodies and produce.
