Your student life
As a UHI Moray student you'll be joining a community where being a student isn't just about studying.
Whether its:
- joining one of our many sports teams
- being a Student Voice Representative or President at HISA (Your Student's Association)
- joining a society or creating your own
- volunteering your time at events both on and off campus
your experience will include meeting new people, experiencing new things and developing your confidence as an individual.
Your Moray Life
If you’re re-locating to study, you’ll find a warm welcome in Moray. This is a friendly, supportive community, where newcomers from all parts of the world immediately feel at home.
We are based in the ancient cathedral city of Elgin, a vibrant town with fantastic sport and social facilities and great train and road links to Inverness, Aberdeen and beyond. Away from Elgin, you can kayak, sail or dolphin-watch in the nearby Moray Firth or go inland and enjoy our world class whisky distilleries or year-round attractions of the Cairngorms National Park.
Moray also has a fascinating history and culture with forts and castles, atmospheric ruins and mysterious Pictish stones to discover. Did you know that Moray is linked with the story of Macbeth? And if that’s not enough… MacMoray Easter Festival, Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, Speyfest, Moray Blue Light Festival and more all take place within the region with some even taking place at our Moray Street campus.
What our Students Say
Misti Corbett, Sport and Fitness: Preparing for the Uniformed and Emergency Services
This course was offering me everything I wanted which was an insight to military life as well as letting me focus on my fitness.
I find the mode of teaching really good and easy to follow all the lecturers are great. If you ever get stuck, they are always there to help you out and give extra support if needed.
Jason Bray, BA(Hons) in Sociology and Criminology
UHI as some of the best support networks that I have come across, as an individual and student with dyslexia I did not think that I would of a achieved the level of knowledge and grades that I have without the help of and support of the lectures and members of the Study Bar. The mode of teaching was good face-to-face as well as online through VC. The modules are interesting and stimulating.
Kirsty Berrill, HNC Applied Science
I left school with no idea what career path I wanted to follow so I decided to give college a go. I looked through the courses that were available and found myself drawn to the science course. I think by choosing this course I have made the right decision as I have found it very interesting and have worked my way up to HNC level. It has also broadened my knowledge immensely.
