Helping Hands for Hospitality Course presentations

Once again great results from the latest 4 week Hospitality course. Outcomes include: 3 participants entered employment, 1 has applied for a job, 5 have applied for college. They have achieved accredited qualifications including First Aid, Food Hygiene and Personal License Holder.

These courses which are aimed at unemployed people from 16+ have been running since March 2013. They have included a mixture of general employability projects to specific sector based courses such as this Hospitality one.  Consistently the outcomes from these courses have been very positive with this one no different.

The participants on the course (6 female and 5 male) have a varied length of unemployment (ranging from 1mth – 12 yrs) with ages ranging from 19yrs – 48yrs. The group have benefited from work experience in both the kitchens and front of house in the Beechtree.

Many of the participants would never have had the confidence to apply for work, and for some these were the first qualifications they have achieved.

Special thanks to all the staff involved including Liz Robertson, The Beechtree Staff who supported the participants when they were working in the restaurant and front of house, Roy Haynes (First Aid) and  Patricia McKee.(REHIS), Brian Currie and Laura Carter and to Tom McGarry for presenting the awards.
