Hospitality and Tourism Academy Launch

On Friday 22nd February the Hospitality and Tourism Academy @ Moray College will be launched by Albert Roux.

‘Providing the next generation of excellence in Hospitality and Tourism’

The new Academy marks a milestone in the development of Moray College UHI and will capitalise on the high reputation that the College has gained in recent years for the quality of its hospitality education and training.

Coming at a crucial time for the Moray Economy as it seeks to diversify into new markets. From 11am the launch includes a range of demonstrations by hospitality students, presentations and a buffet lunch for an invited audience from the Hospitality and Tourism Industry and local authority.

The event will be introduced by Garry Rendall, Associate Director, Moray College UHI on the qualifications offered by the Academy followed by presentations from Mike Devenney, Principal of Moray College UHI and Richard Lochhead MSP 'On the Importance of the hospitality and tourism industry to Moray'.

The Academy will then be officially launched by Albert Roux OBE and Shirley Spear from The Three Chimneys, Skye. The invited audience will be served a Canapé lunch and will hear testimonials from past students. The results of a student competition judged by Albert Roux will be announced and the winner will be given the opportunity to undertake a work placement at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons Restaurant in Oxford.
