Moray College students selected for National Awards

2 Moray College UHI plumbing and electrical apprentices have been selected to represent Scotland in 2 national finals.

James Parry a 3rd year apprentice plumber with Neil Hadden, Plumbers was the winner of the Scottish heat of the Skillplumb Competition which this year was held at Moray College Technology Centre. James, who attended Elgin High School  won the first prize in both the leadwork and copper pipework sections and therefore the overall competition and will go on to represent Scotland in the National Finals.

Ryan Gordon a 3rd stage electrician with Tullochs of Cummingston, won the bronze medal at the 3rd Stage SECTT competition in Inverness in August and has now been selected to represent Scotland in the National Finals in November.Ryan was competing against 11 other apprentices.

This is the first time Moray College UHI will have apprentices in the national finals for both Skillplumb and SkillElectric in the same year a great achievement for the students.
