"My Rural, My Space" - ODTC Need YOUR Votes

Six projects have made it to the the final stage of the STV North Region People's Millions competition. Over the course of the week beginning 24th November, two projects will go head to head each day in a bid to win the funding. The Out of the Darkness Theatre Company (ODTC) have been pitched against the Golden Garden, a garden project based at an Aberdeen care home. ODTC are the only project based in the Moray area.

My Rural,My Space will explore the rural identity across Moray through community workshops involving actors, musicians, visual artists, storytellers, filmmakers and much much more. The project will address and challenge issues of rural isolation, social exclusion, deprivation and ODTC are especially excited to be working directly in the heart of our communities, with a focus across rural youth, rural disability and rural ageing groups. The winner will receive £49,750 from The People’s Millions to enable the project to go ahead and it will be the project which receives the most votes. Voting will open on 26th November at 9.00am and will run until midnight of the same day. The number to call/text will not be released until that morning. People can support us and vote via mobile, home and work numbers up to a maximum of 10 votes per number. Each vote costs 15p. The winning project will hear the result the following day.

ODTC have launched their campaign to raise awareness of their project and to encourage votes. They are asking people to contribute their rural images and videos using the #MyRuralMySpace on Facebook and or Twitter.

This is a really exciting time and a fantastic opportunity for some wider press exposure. Obviously, the wider we can spread the word the better - please share the information with as many people as possible.
