UHI Moray horticulture student wins runner-up at national competition
Gallia Cochrane, HNC Horticulture student, has been announced as the 2nd place winner at the Scottish regionals of the 2023 Young Horticulturist of the Year competition.
Gallia took part in the regional finals on 25th March at Dundee Botanic Gardens and received a £100 cash prize for her win.
Gallia began her studies in 2021 on our Horticulture (Landscaping) course at SCQF Level 6 before progressing onto the HNC (NextGen) in Horticulture which she will graduate from this year.
Nick Chambers, lecturer in horticulture at UHI Moray:
“We are delighted that Gallia made it through for the second year in a row. Last year she came in joint 5th place so we are very proud of her coming away with 2nd place this year.“
