Moray College Pre Start Events ...with level 3 hairdressing students

A group of 12 level 3 students decided to showcase their creative practical skills in cut and colour and avante guarde long hair images for level 2 students to gain an insight into the next step in their chosen career...

The show which forms part of a programme of pre start visits undertaken by Moray College UHI consisted of 24 models (mainly level 1 hairdressing students), a raffle with prizes donated by a number of local businesses and College management. This event also contributed to the course work of the Level 3 Hairdressing students who are required to Plan, Promote and Implement a Promotional Activity within their course.

Hairdressing lecturer Hazel Maguire said ‘she was delighted with the high standard of work which went in to the organisation of the event, the creativity of the students and the high level of teamworking.. all important skills required to be successful in the hairdressing industry’

A number of other pre start events from many subject areas will be taking place over the coming months at Moray College UHI to the end of the academic year. The events are held each year and are an ideal way for existing students who are progressing onto a higher level course and new students to find out more about the courses they are applying for.

The main advantages of these events,are many including: providing details of the chosen course giving the student the opportunity to establish if the course is appropriate for them, meeting fellow students and staff to answering any queries or alley any fears and ensure that as far as possible student expectations are realistic and can be met.
