UCAS Applications

If you are going to be applying for university next year, you need to start getting to work on your UCAS application. Below are the main pointers, but if you require assistance in any way, please come along to the Career Zone in Student Services, where we will be able to help you.

If you are applying for HNC/HND at Moray College UHI ONLY, then you can apply directly to Moray College UHI on an online College application form.

If you are applying for HNC/HND to Moray College UHI and ANY OTHER institution, then you MUST apply through UCAS.

ALL degree applications MUST go through UCAS.

If you require course advice to make the correct choices, then you should make an appointment with student guidance.

If you require assistance with personal statements (which we strongly recommend), then you should make an appointment with Brian Currie. Brian.currie.moray@uhi.ac.uk

When you register with UCAS, you will be asked if you wish to apply under an institution or as an individual. If your reference is going to be written by a College lecturer, then we recommend that you apply under an institution. You will be asked for a Buzzword, this means that we can then monitor your application and check for any errors. If you apply under the buzzword, then you must request a reference from your lecturer. However, if your reference is going to be from someone out with the College, then you should apply as an individual. Your referee will then receive an email direct from UCAS to which they attach your reference.

Whilst the close date for UCAS is the January, we also strongly recommend that you complete it before the Christmas holiday, in order to allow for time for your application to be processed after the Christmas break.
