Moray College graduate, Jason Wright has been selected as one of the finalists in the category 'Horticulture Learner of the Year' in the 2015 Lantra Scotland's Land-based and Aquaculture Learner of the Year Awards.
Jason graduated from Moray College UHI with level 3 Horticulture in 2013 and is now running his own successful gardening business from Forres. Jason attended Forres Academy and tried a few different jobs including Hospitality. He received support and advice from Business Gateway when setting up his business, which is now almost completed its second trading year. Jason works with a number of clients within the Forres area.
‘Moray College UHI was a large part of my life for 3 years and helped me turn my life around. The lecturers on the course were very supportive and gave me the confidence to start my own business. I would recommend the course to anyone interested in Horticulture’
Nick Chambers one of Jason’s lecturers: "We are all immensely proud of Jason, he is the best sort of inspiration to our students, because his success is all down to his own determination and hard work."
Organised by Lantra Scotland, the sector skills council for the land-based, aquaculture and environmental industries, the awards celebrate the achievements of learners of all ages, and will take place at a ceremony and gala dinner in the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel on Thursday 5th March.
